Soul 2010

Welcome to another and my last year of blogging about American Idol. If you have been watching this year, answer me this question, will you actually pay up to $40 to go watch these final 10 in concert? I thought not. American Idol has come a long way from Barry Manilow to Usher. The guest stars have become way more pertintent, too bad the talent (the 10 finalists) are not.

I was concerned about this year. AI without Paula? I love Ellen, but I soon found out that this is not the venue for her. She is great standup, great in situation comedies and best in the afternoon talk show circuits. But not American Idol. Unlike Paula, she will not be stoned during the show or even sleep with the hot boy contestents. She won't even sleep with the girls. Have you seen her wife? Portia has to be the hottest woman in Hollywood.

OK on to the show. I have to be honest about tonight. Number 1: Michael Lynche is a friend of a friend. She calls him Big Mike. I've never gone out with him, or even seen him at the gym so I will have to take her word on it. I will try my best to be objective.
Number 2: Tonight I got home just before the show started. I put a frozen dinner in the microwave and start taking notes. For some reason this dinner is complicated. The first instructions tell me to tear off the plastic wrap and put a teaspoon of water on the vegetables, recover and cook on high for 6 minutes. Then when the microwave buzzes, I have to remove the plastic cover and stir everything and put on high for 2 more minutes. Unfortunately I didn't read the part that says put plastic wrap back on. So my dinner exploded all over the microwave. So in between taking notes, my head is in the microwave trying to clean it all up. I'm pissed off. So the Idols better be really good, or I'm going to stick them in my dirty microwave and turn it on high.

One of these will be your American Idol for 2010:
1. Siobhan Magnus - best thing about her is her name, I went out with a Shinobu. Her performance sucked but I like her name.
2. Casey James - What can I say? This was hot. I think his song says it all. Hold on, I'm coming. Take that however you want.
3. Didi Benami - Usher told her before that's it's good to have a personal connection. Unfortunately she couldn't do it tonight.
4. Michael Lynche - Ready For Love, not sure it was R & B, but I can't argue with Usher, and it was pretty.
5. Tim Urban - made the semi finals after someone was disqualified, not sure why but usually on American Idol, this means that the pictures that they text to someone special, somehow made it to the internet, probably facebook. He isn't very good, but he is so cute. And at this point in the competition, a sexy smile and eyes will get you to the next week.
6. Andrew Garcia - there is something I like about this guy and something I don't like. I can't verbalize what it is. Tonight he did Forever, probably not forever but at least another week.
7. Katie Stevens - Doing the Chain of Fools, at 17 she has more soul than any of the other contestants. And tonight that is the theme.
8. Lee DeWyze - Wow, he sang Treat Her Like A Lady, all I can say is he can treat me like anything he wants. I'm definitely a fan.
9. Crystal Bowersox - on the piano doing Midnight Train to Georgia, proved too much for this man, very hot.
10. Aaron Kelly - what is this kid 10? He sang Ain't No Sunshine, he sounds a lot older than he looks.

Bottom Line, going home on Wednesday, will be a girl and my guess is that it will be Siobhan.
Until Next Week - Wise OUT
