Goodbye Eddie Munster's Mom
For the second week in a row, you are almost gettting it right. The bottom feeders are leaving the show. Last week you voted off Yvonne De Carlo look alike Amanda Overmayer. Go ahead and google Yvonne and tell me they don't look alike. We now just need to get rid of Kristy Lee Cook, to have a real competition. I did notice that Vote for the Worst is pleading with everyone to vote for Kristy Lee. Remember this is the organization that managed Sanjaya's campaign to keep him on the show for several weeks past his expiration date.
Tonight was "Music From the Year You Were Born". Another 80's night! well not quite, David Archuleta was born in 1990!! Interesting concept, go to www.discjockey.org/topsongs.html and find songs from the year you were born.
These are your top ten, this means they will be traveling around the country in concert this fall. So how entertaining was the "year you were born" show?
1. David Cook, very original arrangement and the most talented of the bunch.
2. Michael Johns, anyone doing Queen is going to be in my top 3. I don't think he quite did them justice but up to this point in the show, I was dozing off. He woke me up.
3. Syesha Mercado, I was hoping for a better performance, but I do like the song.
4. Jason Castro, as much as I love his eyes, and Sting, he needs to break away from the ballad crap, it's getting old.
5. Brooke White, I used to like this song, but it was the worst arrangement of "Every Breath You Take", that I've ever heard. Makes you want to just stop breathing.
6. David Archuleta, I just don't get what all the hoopla was about this kid. Tonight, at his age, he probably could have chosen a song still on the top 40, but he chooses something no one has ever heard before. His voice seems OK, but not good enough for everyone to be betting on him to win.
7. Carly Smithson, it was OK but I have to tell you. I was at the Crescent on Capital Hill last weekend at "Sing Along Karoke". A drunk girl actually did this same song better than Carly.
8. Chikezie's "If Only One Night", actually felt like an eternity.
9. Ramele Malubay doing "How Will I Get You Alone", made me wish she would have stayed alone. Sure she was sick, but she shouldn't have exposed us to that!
10. Kristie Lee Cook - this was the lowest point in American Idol history. A no talent blonde bimbo playing the patriotic card. Sounds just like a Republican. Simon had it right, good song selection, because she would have gone home if she hadn't done something like this. God, if you are going to bless anyone, bless those of us that have to listen to her every week.
I honestly don't remember the 80's being this boring. I for one, am so excited that these are the ten that will be performing in Tacoma this September I can hardly wait to pack up the mini van and travel down there to see this. It's either the concert or a root canal. I'll let you know next year which one I chose.
Until Next Week - Wise OUT

Didn't have to "Google it", all you had to say was Yvonne and I made the connection! What would have been drop dead (sorry for the pun) funnier would have been for her to be dressed in Munster attire. I don't care who you are, now that's funny.
OMG "Rock Around The Clock" came out when I was born? Oh well, maybe age has it's good side- like wine or cars maybe?
I'm still rooting for David Archuleta, I was floored with his "Imagine" song, which I saw live, and eventually found on you tube. Very moving. Yes, he does really well with slower, more moving songs. In fact he out does EVERYONE in that arena. But he has to cover all ranges and types of songs to win. I think his attempt last night was towards that goal. Good, but not great. My partner is rooting for Michael Johns, I can tell 'cuz he has this deep growl, and blurts "dam he's hot! every minute or so. I would dare touch the remote when he's on!
I couldn't help but laugh at the baby pictures, especially the one of Cook. He kinda still has a big skull (as if I don't!) , but my partner and I are trying to figure out if that's a comb over for balding or just some kookie hair style covering that skull. Great on the rock songs, but only good in the down tempo and ballad area. Again, Archuleta has this hands down.
Can't wait until tonight, and your next post Rick!
Rick...
I agree that David Cook was the best last night. I think that most people will be impressed that he came up with that arrangement. It did not. He did it exactly like Chris Cornell did on he latest CD (Which is really good). Check out the video of him singing it live. It is almost identical in every way even the way that they are holding the mic stand.

Well, I hate to say it, but this was kind of a boring night for me, I kept falling asleep. But I did wake up when Michael Johns sang -- in my opinion, that was REALLY good!!! I also think Sayesha (spelling?) did a great job tonight. Didn't like David Archulet's song, but maybe because I have never heard it. The Billy Jean song didn't do it for me, zzzzzzzz. Oh well, looking forward to next week. And "yes", I hate to say that the country girl has to go. I LOVE country!! Can't believe she wasn't in the bottom three!!
